Moving on, if you want to learn Bang, try to learn his basic BnB combo:ĥA/2A (optional) > 5B 2B 2C 6D JC (623B before you actually leave the ground)īasically, Bang's Drives are all jump-cancelable, but not special-cancelable. Then again, it just makes it that much more awesome when you beast Jin with Bang. Add to that the fact that Jin is pretty much better than Bang at every aspect of the game except for high/low mixups, and you start to see why Jin is considered top and Bang is considered bottom. If Jin does 3k damage without using any meter, it is considered "crap damage" for Jin. If Bang breaks 3k damage using only one super, it is considered "really good damage" for Bang. Bang's combo requires you to TK a spidernail, land, link a 5D, then jump cancel that into an air combo finishing with a special in midair. Jin's combo requires you to mash the B button, then the C button. Compare this to Bang, who has to work his ass off for a 2k+ combo, is forced to rush down despite having a weak mixup game, and overall has poor range and priorioty.Īs illustration, let's take a basic Jin combo, and compare it with a slightly more complex Bang combo.īang: 5B 2B 2C 2369C land 5D JC j.B dj.B 623B Jin puts out massive damage output with incredibly easy combos, is extremely favorable to turtling, and has insanely good range and speed.

Bang is bottom tier, while Jin is top, and for good reason. Well, don't be discouraged if you try to play Bang, give up and switch to Jin, and start winning a ton of games. If I can't use bang I'll give in to using jin or ranga or D or something.Īshton - I will give that combo a try! I have just been using the dvd - is there somewhere I can go for combos.rated by difficulty? I was also thinking of playing Ragna once I get those two down.but they all play pretty different from each other so it is a listen in errors. I know I started out with Jin, pretty good with him now, so I'm moving on two my other two favorite characters.Hakumen and Rachel. Also, play through story mode to get a feel for the characters and see if one interests you. My tip would be to stick to one character until you're relatively comfortable with it then move on to others. Though it takes some time getting used to if you're planning on playing multiple characters. Yeah, Blazblue is interesting in that most characters play in completely different ways. It's fun having my notions of a fighting game turned upside down, but a little disarming as well. I'm definitely gonna give Arakune a spin this evening. Being unable to use specials for a time sort of throws me off my game with Hakumen.

The fact that everyone's specials, drives, astrals all work differently is very interesting, but sometimes makes the transition a little difficult mentally. Hakumen did interest me, but this game messes with my mind a bit. I've started to get a solid grasp of the game's mechanics, but have yet to work the a+b counter into my arsenal. That was my first impression of Bang, that he was completely a rushdown character. He does have pretty good movement options, especially if you are willing to use a shuriken to make a bumper, but I've never seen him as anything but a rushdown character. Bang can not poke or zone for crap, and cannot rely on his drives to keep for defense as the best one for countering has no low invincibility. Defensive, offensive whatever.īang does not quite seem like he would fit your description. I guess Jin could work too, he's a solid char, you could probably play him however you want. Arakune is no where near a countering character, but he can essentially control the entire screen so that may be nice for you. Hakumen is an incredible defensive character, however he has very limited movement options against the better characters. I think you should try Hakumen or Arakune. I'll always be better at SF4, but any help would be appreciated. Like I said I'm not good at keeping constant pressure, I get in and get out. Of course I'll figure it out eventually, but if you fellas have some recommendations I'd love to hear them. I main Bison/Vega in SF4, so I like characters that have a lot of movement options which is why I landed on Jin after giving up on Bang. I'm more defensive/counter, but I don't turtle. I guess one of my questions for you guys would be who do I play.
